The new BlackBerry Bold 2 based on BB OS, 5.0. The BlackBerry Bold 2 (9700) is a lot smaller and lighter than its predecessor, and it looks more like the 8520 than 9000. The smaller size comes at the expense of the screen, now a 2.44 "screen instead of 2.6" on a previous phone, although the same 9700 480 x 360 pixel resolution.
BlackBerry Bold other features include 3.5G support, WiFi and GPS, a good quality media player, a 3.5 mm audio jack and microSD expandable memory (with 2GB in the standard package). Bold 2 come with 3.15 MP camera, autofocus, flash and supports geo-tagging. The maximum video capture resolution is 480 x 352 pixels which are OK for playback on the screen of the Bold 2 (9700).
The BlackBerry Bold 9700 WiFi implementation supports UMA, meaning it can be used as a VOIP (Voice over IP) device. The large 1500mAh battery provides up to 5 hours talk time and 15 days standby time on 3G, which is certainly good enough for most business users. A little more life can be squeezed out of the battery by switching to GSM. BlackBerry Bold 2 (9700) available in Nigeria with price of N68000/- to N71000/-
